Cooking has always been part of my life. I grew up in a family with a deep Basque culinary tradition, and my beloved grandmother was the one who taught me everything I know about our local flavors.

It is an immersive culinary and cultural journey through the heart of Bilbao. From traditional pintxos to modern gastronomic secrets, you will explore the flavors that define our city alongside local experts who live and breathe Basque culture.
You’ll join a local guide for a bar‑hopping route through Bilbao’s historic center, stopping at five carefully selected bars. At each stop, you’ll enjoy hand‑picked pintxos and drinks. Some dishes are ordered directly from the kitchen rather than taken from the counter, giving you access to specialties most visitors would never discover on their own.
The tour includes 8–10 pintxos and 5 drinks across five bars. This is designed to add up to a full dinner, so arriving hungry is highly recommended.
You’ll taste a mix of classic Basque pintxos and award‑winning creations from local pintxo competitions. Several dishes are prepared fresh on request and are not displayed at the bar, offering insider‑only bites in a mix of very modern pintxo bars and more traditional ones.
Each pintxo is paired with a drink that complements it. Throughout the evening you’ll sample local favorites such as red and white wines, Basque cider, and other regional drinks—an authentic overview of what locals actually drink.
The tour starts at 6:00 pm and lasts approximately 3 hours. It’s designed as an evening experience and works perfectly as your main dinner plan.
The group meets in front of the KFC next to San Nicolás Church. The tour finishes at the last bar in the Old Town, making it easy to continue your evening or find your way back afterwards.
